Personalized Lego Sign

Personalized Lego Sign

Ever since I was little, I’ve been fascinated with Legos. The way you can build almost anything that your mind can invent is pure entertainment for me. As a grown up, I still buy a Lego set from time to time. I don’t come across many Lego enthusiasts, but when I do, it’s an absolute pleasure to chat Legos with them. This project came about as an idea for a Christmas present for a friend. This friend works in sales by day and in his free time, he collects Lego sets. He even brings Legos to work and builds during his lunch hour. So it was only fitting that he have a Lego personality of himself to display in his office. The idea is simple: develop a Lego personality for someone by showcasing a specific talent, hobby, or passion…..but in true Lego form. In this case, Bo, the Lego collector, also has a passion for all things related to Volkswagen. So naturally, I made him a Lego personality fitted with a Volkswagen mechanic suit! I liked the result so much that I did one for myself. I used 1/2″ birch veneered plywood laminated with styrene. Flat black spray paint is used first followed by vinyl graphics. Each sign measures approximately 12″ wide by 19″ high. Take a look at the gallery below!
