Personalized Lego Sign

Personalized Lego Sign

Ever since I was little, I’ve been fascinated with Legos. The way you can build almost anything that your mind can invent is pure entertainment for me. As a grown up, I still buy a Lego set from time to time. I don’t come across many Lego enthusiasts, but when I do, it’s an absolute pleasure to chat Legos with them. This project came about as an idea for a Christmas present for a friend. This friend works in sales by day and in his free time, he collects Lego sets. He even brings Legos to work and builds during his lunch hour. So it was only fitting that he have a Lego personality of himself to display in his office. The idea is simple: develop a Lego personality for someone by showcasing a specific talent, hobby, or passion…..but in true Lego form. Read the rest of this entry »

Sports Coasters

Sports Coasters

We love making cool stuff. It’s always great to see someone’s reaction when they receive something that they don’t expect. We know a lot of sports fans who like all things sports-related….especially when it’s something that isn’t easy to come by. That’s where the coaster comes in. It’s simple and small, yet it makes a great impression about the kinds of things that you are able to offer. We’ve been giving sports-related coasters for quite some time now. We like to give them as gifts for all types of occasions. You won’t find Read the rest of this entry »

LED Desktop Display

LED Desktop Display

Our most recent display is the LED desktop display. It’s powered by a single 9 volt battery and lasts for over 100 hours (continuous run time.) They are the perfect accent for any home or office. You can use them to promote your favorite sports team or display your company logo at a corporate function. While we realize that some of the sports logos featured within the gallery may upset some individuals, I’d like to assure you that Read the rest of this entry »

LED Projects from the past…

LED Projects from the past…

We’ve been playing around with LED lighting for a few years now. We’ve experimented with many different manufacturers of LEDs as well as styles of LEDs. There’s a lot more projects that will eventually be added to this post, but for now, you should get the idea. LEDs can be added to almost anything. They are a great way to add interesting design elements to almost any atmosphere. In the past, we’ve Read the rest of this entry »

Stools for my niece and nephew…

Stools for my niece and nephew…

Three years ago our family was blessed with a second set of twins, my niece and nephew. They’re growing up pretty fast and it seems like just yesterday they learned to brush their teeth on their own! How time flies! Last weekend I finished a new stool for them to use in Grandma’s kitchen, bathroom and any other place needed to be reached by a three-year-old. They are made of poplar wood because it paints very well. I used latex paint for the version with the red seat and oil-based paint for the two that have a double step. I originally made two stools for both of them to use Read the rest of this entry »

Dremel Battering Ram

Dremel Battering Ram

It’s that time of year again….Dremel called me last week and asked me to work on a new project for their upcoming North American Sales Conference. This years project: a Battering Ram. I didn’t get many details, outside of a material list, a picture of their original concept, and the usual “just make it look cool.” Done and done. The battering rams would have to have wheels because they would be traveling down a track or ramp and would end up hitting something. What was the something? I have no idea……those details weren’t necessary because they weren’t given to me. Outside of the generic list of materials given to the teams, the one specific requirement was that all battering rams had to have a specific place for a

Dremel Stylus Trade Show Display and Demo Station

Dremel Stylus Trade Show Display and Demo Station

Dremel is a power tool company known for their rotary tools. They are tools that spin a wide variety of accessories at high speed to accomplish a multitude of tasks including cutting, carving, sanding, grinding, and polishing. A few years ago, they launched a new cordless tool called the Stylus. Unlike the traditional Dremel tool, the Stylus fit into your hand much like you would hold a gun. It was, and still is, one of my favorite Dremel tools. Like most other manufacturers, Dremel hit the road promoting their new product at trade shows and Home Depot stores around the country. I had the opportunity to build a display for these trade shows. After a Read the rest of this entry »
