LED Projects from the past…

LED Projects from the past…

We’ve been playing around with LED lighting for a few years now. We’ve experimented with many different manufacturers of LEDs as well as styles of LEDs. There’s a lot more projects that will eventually be added to this post, but for now, you should get the idea. LEDs can be added to almost anything. They are a great way to add interesting design elements to almost any atmosphere. In the past, we’ve Read the rest of this entry »

Dremel Battering Ram

Dremel Battering Ram

It’s that time of year again….Dremel called me last week and asked me to work on a new project for their upcoming North American Sales Conference. This years project: a Battering Ram. I didn’t get many details, outside of a material list, a picture of their original concept, and the usual “just make it look cool.” Done and done. The battering rams would have to have wheels because they would be traveling down a track or ramp and would end up hitting something. What was the something? I have no idea……those details weren’t necessary because they weren’t given to me. Outside of the generic list of materials given to the teams, the one specific requirement was that all battering rams had to have a specific place for a

It was, and still is, one of my favorite Dremel tools. Like most other manufacturers, Dremel hit the road promoting their new product at trade shows and Home Depot stores around the country. I had the opportunity to build a display for these trade shows. After a Read the rest of this entry »

Dremel Multi-Max Merchandising Displays for Home Depot

Dremel Multi-Max Merchandising Displays for Home Depot

At the time of this project, Dremel Power Tools, a division of Bosch Power Tools, was achieving great success with the launch of their newest tool, the Multi-Max. This tool performed such operations as cutting, sanding, and scraping by using oscillation, a very fast vibration. It didn’t have spinning or reciprocating movements, so it was impressive to most people. This type of tool was currently on the market and produced by another manufacturer, but its starting price Read the rest of this entry »

Dremel Catapult Design

Dremel Catapult Design

Every year Dremel Tools hosts a North American Sales Conference. Their nationwide team of sales representatives meet for several days with various teams from the corporate office. The goal is to introduce new tools and accessories and how to use them. Part of the conference is a building event in which they gather in teams and must build a project within a time frame (that sometimes doesn’t seem fair.) It’s always a lot of fun and people who otherwise never Read the rest of this entry »
